Reflexology is a popular and relaxing holistic treatment that is based on the principle that reflex points on the soles, tops and sides of the feet are connected to other parts of the body. It’s almost like seeing the feet as a ‘map’ of the body.

This treatment is an energy based treatment, like acupuncture. It works on correcting imbalances throughout the body and helping to release any areas of blocked energy that might be causing illness, anxiety or stress. Reflexologists work on the reflex points with their thumbs and fingers using specialised massage techniques.

What can reflexology help with?

Whilst reflexology can’t be used to diagnose or treat disease, it is often used as a complementary treatment to support more conventional medicine. This is largely due to its ability to relax the body, relieve pain and promote healing.

We typically help with the following:

  • Stress and pain relief
  • Deep relaxation (also see massage therapy)
  • Boosting circulation and improving energy
  • Removal of impurities and toxins
  • Stronger immune system
  • General improved sense of wellbeing and balance
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Digestive problems

Buckinghamshire based reflexologist

Reflexology is a non-invasive and deeply relaxing treatment that is suitable for almost everybody, including children and pregnant women.  Occasionally, there are certain medical conditions where the approval of your doctor may be required, but we are always happy to offer advice if you’re unsure.

From the tranquil surroundings of our Buckinghamshire practice in Mentmore, near Aylesbury and Tring, you can enjoy a restorative treatment with our experienced reflexologist.

Your reflexology treatment

During treatment you’ll be asked to sit or lie comfortably, with your shoes and socks off. Reflexology isn’t painful, quite the opposite. It’s a wonderfully relaxing foot massage, so sit back and let the healing hands of our practitioner work their magic.

Your reflexologist will work their way around the soles of your feet, your toes, ankles and tops of your feet, using massage techniques to stimulate the reflex points. Treatment lasts for around an hour.
